ONTARIO
Ontario’s varied landscapes and four season climate create demanding conditions for hardscape projects across both residential and commercial settings. From intense freeze thaw cycles to heavy rainfall, clay based soils, and increasing requirements for sustainable stormwater management, surfaces need to be built for longevity and performance.
ROMEX Hardscapes supports these challenges with systems that prioritize strength, permeability, and long term durability. Our solutions help mitigate erosion, improve drainage, and create stable installations that hold up in high traffic environments, giving architects, contractors, and homeowners confidence that their projects will remain beautiful and resilient year after year.

OAKVILLE PORCELAIN ROOFTOP PATIO
In 2024, Branthaven set out to create a welcoming rooftop oasis for residents at 3240 William Coltson Avenue in Oakville, Ontario. Perched high above a busy intersection near Trafalgar Road and Dundas Street East, the space needed to look as refined as a ground-level courtyard while standing up to wind, weather, and daily use. NAK Design Strategies envisioned a clean, contemporary porcelain tile terrace, and Orin Landscaping was entrusted with turning that vision into a long-lasting reality. To make it work on a rooftop—and to keep everything permeable and secure—ROMEX Hardscapes was brought into the conversation.

ACADIA UNIVERSITY STABILIZED PATHWAYS
What began as a peaceful walking route through Acadia University’s Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens had slowly turned into a maintenance headache. Each time heavy rain swept in off the Atlantic, sections of the decomposed granite pathway would wash away, leaving ruts, loose stone, and uneven footing. For a space designed to invite visitors into a calm, natural landscape, the constant erosion was both a safety concern and a distraction from the gardens’ beauty. The university needed a way to protect the path without losing the organic look that made the gardens so special.

NASHVILLE WALKWAY AND SWIM SPA PATIO
In the rural setting of Nashville, Ontario, a timeless transformation took shape at a heritage home dating back to the early 1800s. With a desire to preserve the home’s vintage charm while introducing modern functionality, NRX Landscaping led the design and construction of a 1,200-square-foot outdoor space. The final result is a multi-use patio anchored by a swim spa, blending reclaimed materials, contemporary pavers, and ROMEX’s high performance installation systems for lasting strength and beauty.
VERNON ISLAND FLAGSTONE PATHWAYÂ
The homeowners wanted more than just a way to get from their house down to the lake. They imagined a journey that unfolded through the landscape: a winding pathway that followed the natural contours of the property and opened into small pad areas where family and friends could gather, pause, and enjoy the water views. On Vernon Island in Muskoka, Ontario, Rockscape was tasked with turning that vision into a durable, natural stone retreat that felt as if it had always belonged there.
