Construction Preparation: Prepare the foundation for expected traffic. Follow regulations and guides for paving stone surfaces. Ensure the sub-surface can handle future loads without settling or loosening stones. Use ROMEX® TRASS BED products and ROMEX® SYSTEM-GUARANTEE (RSG) for best results.
Preparation: Clean the backside of the stone/ paver/ cobble thoroughly to remove dust and debris before applying the ADHESION ELUTRIANT thin set. A wipe with a damp sponge is best.
Mixing: For full mix Pour 8 liters | 2.1 gal of cool, clean water into a container. Add 25 kg | 55 lbs of ROMEX® – ADHESION ELUTRIANT THIN SET and stir for 3 minutes. Wait approximately 3 minutes, and stir briefly again. Adjust consistency by adding more water or powder as needed. Only mix what can be used within 1 hour, if the mix stiffens you can add a little water and mix again.
Application: 1st method: Apply ROMEX® – ADHESION ELUTRIANT THIN SET to slightly moist slab underside with a layer thickness of 3-5 mm | 1⁄8″- 1⁄4″ using a notched trowel. Tap into freshly laid drainage mortar. Scrape off excess product around stone edges to prevent oozing of Elutriant into the paver joints.
2nd method: Dip cobblestone 2-3 cm | 3⁄4″ – 1 1⁄4″ deep into a tub of ROMEX® – ADHESION ELUTRIANT THIN SET. Immediately tap into freshly laid drainage mortar.
Important: Hairline cracks may appear due to weather and expansion/ contraction of the paving surface, these are natural and do not form a defect. Base courses without drainage will get damaged from moisture. Roughen stone undersides before use if smooth compact laid stones according to tile setting guidelines. Take measures to drain water on impermeable surfaces using drainage holes and adequate slopes.
