REQUIRED TOOLS

  • Appropriate PPE
  • Watering cans
  • Screed boards / straight edge
  • Hand tamper / plate compactor

Site Requirements: Excavation of 4-6” is recommended. Non-woven geotextile separation is optional. Ensure the subsurface is well compacted 0- 3/4” road gravel and free of settlement to 98% proctor density using a mist of water to keep it damp during this process. Ensure a test of the aggregate with D7000 has been completed. Edging in the form of plastic, metal , wood or concrete is recommended.

Preparation: Ensure the base of 4-6” (100-150mm) is fully compacted in lifts using a mist of water keeping the gravel damp but not wet, and has sufficient slope or crown for drainage. Use angular gravel mixtures from 0- 1/4” (0-5mm) with fines such as decomposed granite and stonedust screenings 1/2″-1″ (13mm-25mm) thick as the top finishing layer. Tape off adjacent areas that are not to be treated.

Application: Outline 85sf (8sq m) sections with flags or marking paint. Pour the contents into a watering can using a funnel with an inclined spray attachment and distribute evenly over the surface.

Professional Tip: For heavily used surfaces, reapply ROMEX D7000 after hardening using a sprayer or watering can for added strength. Resealing requirements: approximately 350 square feet per 20-litre container, repeated every 3 years depending on surface use.

Subsequent Treatment: Protect the treated area from rain for 24-48 hours, ensuring air circulation under the rain protection.

Important Information: Insufficient fine/dust content in gravel mixtures will result in inadequate binding. Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) during work. Regularly remove moss, leaves, and weeds from the surface. Some or occasional stone detachment may occur depending on the installation, aggregate choice and traffic, which is natural and not a defect. Curing time varies: faster in hot weather, and slower in cold weather.

Weather Warning: Only install at surface temperatures between 10°C – 30°C | 50°F – 86°F. Lower temperatures result in slower hardening while higher temperatures cure faster. No Rain for 24hrs after application. Elevated covering is required if rain is expected. Do not install on frozen ground.
