WEATHER WARNING – Only install at surface temperatures between 5°C – 30°C | 41°F – 86°F. Lower temperatures result in slower hardening while higher temperatures cure faster.

INSTALL STEPS
Construction site requirements: The base must be constructed to handle the expected traffic loads without settling or loosening the stones. Follow all relevant regulations and construction guidelines for paved stone surfaces. Using ROMEX® Trass-Bed products and the ROMEX® System Guarantee (RSG) is strongly recommended. For best results, use ROMEX® application tools.
Preparation: Clean joints to a minimum depth of 30 mm (1 ¼”). Ensure the surface is free of any impurities before starting. Tape off any adjoining surfaces that should not be treated. Fill joints with Fugensand or ROMEX® dry filler material, ensuring the sand is set below the surface or chamfer by 3 mm (1/8”). Sweep off any excess sand from the stone surface.
Paver Requirements: Pavers and slabs must be installed in compliance with CMHA guidelines (Technical Specification #2). Before applying the joint strengthener, dampen the paver surface with water (avoid puddles).
Application: Shake the bottle thoroughly before use. Apply the joint strengthener directly onto the joints until they are fully saturated. Immediately wipe away any excess product from the stone surface using a wet sponge or towel.
Post-Application: Protect the freshly treated surface from rain for 48 hours. Ensure the rain cover does not lay directly on the surface to allow for proper air circulation. Surface temperature during application must be above 7°C (45°F)
Important Notes: Settling or loose stones, particularly in unbonded construction, can cause joint cracks. These visual issues can be easily fixed by refilling the joints and reapplying ROMPOX® – JOINT STRENGTHENER. For coated concrete slabs or sensitive stone types, only treat the joints directly to avoid affecting the stone surface.
